JAMB Extends Deadline for 2021–2025 Admission Offers to November 30

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers from the 2021 to 2025 admission exercises to accept or reject the offers.
The new deadline is November 30, 2026, giving affected candidates an additional two months to update their admission status on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
JAMB had previously fixed September 30 as the deadline for candidates to take action on outstanding offers. The latest extension followed a temporary disruption of the CAPS platform, which was reportedly unavailable for about 96 hours.
JAMB Warns Candidates Against Missing New Deadline
The board described November 30 as the final deadline for candidates affected by the outstanding admission offers.
Candidates who wish to retain their previous admission offers are expected to log into their CAPS accounts and accept them. Those who no longer want the offers can reject them so that JAMB can update its records.
According to JAMB, candidates who accept their offers will be able to proceed with printing their admission letters.
The board also explained that candidates who are no longer studying at the institutions where they were previously offered admission, or who have changed programmes, may accept the outstanding admission and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion where necessary.
What Happens After November 30?
JAMB warned that candidates who fail to either accept or reject their outstanding offers by the new deadline will have the admissions reverted to “Not Admitted” on the board’s records.
Any subsequent request to update an admission record from the affected years will also attract the applicable penalty fee, according to the board.
JAMB further assured candidates who have already secured admission for the 2026 academic session that rejecting an outstanding admission offer from an earlier year will not affect their current admission.
The board urged all affected candidates to check their CAPS accounts and take the necessary action before the November 30 deadline.

Nigeria’s Youngest Private Jet Owners: How Dangote, Amokachi & Davido Made It

Picture being 22 years old and already stepping onto your own private jet. For most people, that’s a fantasy. For three Nigerians, it was simply the next chapter.
Aliko Dangote got there first, and earliest. Daniel Amokachi followed a different runway, one that ran through Kaduna and out onto Europe’s biggest football stages. And at 25, Davido stood in front of the world and announced that “Air OBO” was landing.
Three men. Three industries. One shared milestone reached long before most people finish building a career.
Three Roads, One Sky
What makes these stories worth telling isn’t just the jets — it’s how differently each man got there.
Dangote built his way up. By 22, he had already turned early commercial success into serious capital, laying the groundwork for an empire that would eventually stretch across cement, sugar, salt, oil, and commodity trading, becoming one of Africa’s largest industrial enterprises.
Amokachi played his way up. At the height of Nigerian football’s golden generation, his talent on the pitch opened doors most players never see, and his private-aircraft arrangement was less indulgence than evidence — proof of the financial weight a top-tier European footballer could carry.
Davido sang his way up. By 25, he was already one of Africa’s most bankable music stars, and his 2018 announcement did more than turn heads — it signaled the arrival of a new generation of entertainers whose commercial reach extended well past the studio.
The Real Lesson in the Clouds
Here’s the twist: none of these jets were ever really the point.
In each story, the aircraft was a symbol — of ambition, of sporting dominance, of entertainment influence — rather than the achievement itself. Dangote, looking back now, has even said he’d rather see that kind of early wealth poured into factories and productive ventures than into luxury.
From a 22-year-old building an empire, to a footballer at the peak of his powers, to a 25-year-old pop star rewriting what success could look like — these three stories, spanning three different eras, all say the same thing: extraordinary can arrive far earlier than anyone expects.
One thing worth noting: the details of ownership aren’t equally clear across all three stories. Dangote’s is the most documented — a jet acquired outright, backed by a business empire he was already building. With Amokachi and Davido, the full picture is harder to pin down; some accounts suggest their aircraft may have been shared, family-linked, or not entirely confirmed as sole ownership. That doesn’t take anything away from what each man achieved — it just means the full story, like most good ones, has a few details still worth digging into.

NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, announced the results on Thursday at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the examination, comprising 682,352 males and 695,696 females. Of the registered candidates, 1,371,992 eventually sat for the examination.
According to NECO, 804,948 candidates, representing 58.67 per cent, obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Another 1,162,118 candidates, representing 84.70 per cent, obtained at least five credits irrespective of their results in the two subjects.
The 2026 examination was conducted between June 15 and July 23 across Nigeria and six foreign countries: Benin Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Niger Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo and Saudi Arabia. The nationwide marking exercise took place from August 17 to September 4.
NECO also reported a significant reduction in examination malpractice. The council said the number of candidates involved in malpractice fell from 3,878 in 2025 to 1,406 in 2026, representing a 64.74 per cent decline.
The registrar attributed the reduction to strengthened examination monitoring, improved processes and collaboration with security agencies and other stakeholders.
The council also disclosed that candidates with special needs participated in the examination, as part of its efforts to make the examination process more inclusive.
NECO said candidates can now access their results through its official result-checking platform using their examination registration details.
The release of the results comes 63 days after the conclusion of the 2026 SSCE examination.
