Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp has pledged to overhaul the country’s football structure, saying he feels a personal responsibility to help rebuild the game from the grassroots to the national level.

Speaking about his new role, Klopp stressed that his ambitions extend beyond winning matches with the senior national team. He said his objective is to create a sustainable football system capable of producing future generations of elite players and restoring Germany’s status as a global football powerhouse.

The former Liverpool manager acknowledged that German football faces significant challenges following recent disappointments on the international stage, insisting that meaningful change requires improvements in youth development, coaching standards, talent identification, and the overall football pathway.

Klopp said rebuilding the system will require patience, collaboration, and a shared commitment from clubs, academies, regional associations, and the German Football Association (DFB). He noted that lasting success can only be achieved through structural reforms rather than short-term fixes.

The 59-year-old added that he accepted the Germany job because he believes he can make a lasting contribution to the country’s football future, describing the opportunity as both an honour and a responsibility.

Klopp is expected to begin implementing his long-term vision as Germany prepares for upcoming international competitions, with supporters hopeful his leadership can usher in a new era of success for the national team.
